Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml is available in a liquid format that comes packaged in a bottle attached to a dropper head to aid its transfer to either the eyes or the ear.Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml is prescribed as treatment for bacterial eye and ear infections as this drug is able to prevent the multiplication of the bacteria and reduce the number of bacteria present at any given time.Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml is to be used for bacterial infections only;it won’t be efficient for fungal infections.

Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml is to be applied throughout the day,with each dose evenly spaced out the day keeping a minimum of 4 hour gap between each dose.The dosage can be increased to two drops every 2 hours or reduced depending on the patient’s stage of illness and any adverse effects felt by the patient.Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml must be applied with clean hands,make sure the eyedropper or tube tip doesn’t touch the surface of the eye or any other surface.It is imperative that the tip of the dropper/tube and hands are always clean before the application of Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml.Make sure to shake Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml container well before each use and to replace the cap of the Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml immediately after each use.

Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml is safe to be prescribed to children under the age of 2 years,their dosage depends upon their weight,the severity of the infection and any side effects the patient might feel.For pregnant and breastfeeding women,Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml is prescribed only when extremely necessary and under the supervision of a physician.

Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml works by reducing and preventing the replication of bacteria thereby bringing an end to bacterial infection.

How To Use Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml

For Eye: Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml must be applied with clean hands,make sure the eyedropper or tube tip doesn’t touch the surface of the eye or any other surface.It is imperative that the tip of the dropper/tube and hands are always clean before the application of Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml.Make sure to shake Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml container well before each use and to replace the cap of the Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml immediately after each use.

To apply Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml,pull the head back slightly,then the lower eyelid is pulled down to create a small space where a drop of solution from the tip is applied.Close eye for a minute or two after Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml application,while applying pressure at the inner corner of the eye (area near the nose) to prevent solution from draining into the nasal and/or oral passages.Do not rub or blink after applying eye drops.If the recommended dosage is more than one drop of Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml then the above steps are to be repeated.

Before applying any other eyedrop that might be prescribed along with Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml,the patient is to wait 5-10 minutes.Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml is recommended to be applied at the same time each day and for the recommended time period.Excess of Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml may be wiped clean with a clean tissue or cloth.Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml is not to be stopped abruptly even after experiencing a decrease in symptoms as Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml is meant to be tapered off and stopping it before time may even result in a return of bacterial infection

There is a risk that Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml usage may result in stains on contact lenses and it is therefore advised to apply Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml a minimum of 15-20 minutes before wearing the contact lenses.Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml is available in solution and in an ointment from.

A drop or two of Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml is the advised dosage at one time for eye infections and for ear infections,4 drops is the advised dosage.Patients may be asked to use Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml twice a day.

Child Dosage 

Dosage depends on the illness being treated.For ear infections 4 drops are advised to be dropped in each ear.Patients may be asked to use Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml twice a day.For eye infections,2 drops in each eye is the advised dosage,to be inserted twice daily or as advised by the physician.

Elderly Dosage

Dosage depends on the illness being treated.For ear infections 4 drops are advised to be dropped in each ear.Patients may be asked to use Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml twice a day.For eye infections,2 drops in each eye is the advised dosage,to be inserted twice daily or as advised by the physician.

Pregnancy Use And Lactation

Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml may be prescribed to pregnant women only when necessary and under the supervision of a physician.There is not sufficient evidence to prove that Cipotic-D Ear Drop 5 ml passes into breast milk and is not commonly prescribed to breastfeeding mothers unless absolutely necessary.

  • Blurred vision- this side effect tends to go away on its own if a few days;patients are advised to not operate heavy machinery or drive any motorized vehicles in the meantime.If blurred vision persists,please contact your doctor.
  • Feeling dizzy (lightheaded) or weak –If the medication makes you feel dizzy or weak, stop what you’re doing and sit or lie down until you feel better and do not rise too fast or immediately from a sitting or lying down position to a standing posture.
