{{Product}} belongs to the category of proton pump inhibitors which perform the function of treating patients who experience excessive amounts of acid in their stomach. {{Product}} helps the acid go back from the stomach to the esophagus. {{Product}} is prescribed to treat heartburn, erosive esophagitis, and GERD. (gastroesophageal reflux disease)

{{Product}} may interact with cigarettes or tobacco and hence it is advised to be avoided during medication. Cranberries may also interact and are advised to be avoided. {{Product}} is only to be consumed by the elderly if prescribed and approved by a medical expert. {{Product}} also has the potential to weaken bones which would result in patients getting fractured easily. 

{{Product}} may also cause some common side effects to patients such as itching, rashes, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, or fever. {{Product}} can also cause some rare side effects which should be reported to the doctor such as seizures, decreased urine, dry mouth, bloody nose, and weak bones.

How To Use The {{Product}}

{{Product}} is to be consumed in the form of a capsule as a whole and if a patient can’t ingest the capsule as a whole then he can open the capsule and consume the mix with the help of water. 

How Does {{Product}} Work?

{{Product}} works by washing up the excessive acid in the stomach back to the esophagus.  


Children Dosage 

The dose to be given to children is determined by the doctor by observing their weight, condition, and tolerance to the medicine.

In Children, less than 12 years’ safety and efficacy are not established

Adult Dosage 

Erosive esophagitis: 60 mg daily for 8 weeks and maintenance and relief of heartburn 30mg daily for around 6 months 

Symptomatic non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): 30mg daily for 4 weeks

Pregnancy Use and Lactation 

Medicine has shown potential risk hence caution is advised during pregnancy. If a patient gets pregnant during the administration, then she should consult her doctor and medicine should only be ingested if highly essential. 

{{Product}} is advised to not be administered to the nursing mother as it may be excreted into the breastmilk and cause infant harm. There has been no potential evidence of harm but there are potential risks therefore {{Product}} is advised to be avoided.

  • Increased risks of fractures in hips, wrists
  • Sensitive for the use of elderly and/or for prolonged use.
  • systemic lupus erythematosus may occur
  • Hepatic impairment 


Please tell your doctor if you have a history of any of the following before using Dexxoo 60mg Capsule 10 ‘S:

  • Diarrhea
  • Hypomagnesemia (low magnesium in the blood)
  • Osteoporosis (bone problem)
  • Seizures, history
  • Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) Use with caution. May make these conditions worse.
  • Liver disease, moderate—Use with caution.
  • Severe hepatic impairment

Adverse Effects

Common Effects 

  • Burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, or tingling feelings

  • rash, hives

  • swollen, painful, or tender lymph glands in the neck, armpit, or groin
  • unusual bleeding or bruising
  • vomiting
  • vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds
  • watery or bloody diarrhea

Rare Effects

How To Cope-up With Some Adverse Effects 

Feeling drowsy – If the medication makes you feel drowsy or sleepy, stop what you’re doing and sit or lie down until you feel better, and do not rise too fast or immediately from a sitting or lying down position to a standing posture. Do not drive or use tools or machinery in case of any of these effects.

Headaches- In which case make sure you rest and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid the use of alcohol. Take a prescribed painkiller. Consult your doctor if the headaches last longer than a week or are severe

Feeling or being sick (nausea or vomiting) or diarrhea – Avoid eating rich or spicy food. It might help to take medication after food. If you’re sick, try drinking small, frequent sips of water.

Skin Rash- Can be eased by applying soothing and healing lotions or creams such as calamine lotion/cream. Apply a cold compress to the rash helps reduce itchiness and redness caused by the rash. An antihistamine (prescribed by a doctor) is also recommended as an effective way to combat any skin rash.

Fever- Patients are asked to ingest over the counter such as Paracetamol), partake in plenty of fluids, and rest for a couple of days till the symptoms pass

It is advised that the drug is taken at the same time each day, and an alarm can be placed to remind patients to take Dexxoo 60mg Capsule 10 ‘S at the proper time and at least an hour before having any meal. If patient misses a dose of Dexxoo 60mg Capsule 10 ‘S, they should take it immediately but if the time for the next dose of the drug is near then it’s beneficial for patients to skip the missed dose.

Dexxoo 60mg Capsule 10 ‘S is to be ingested orally with water to help the tablet flow down the throat easily. It can be consumed with or without food and should not be chewed or crushed.
