Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S belongs to a group of drugs known as atypical antipsychotics, that help regulate dopamine and serotonin hormone levels in the body. Serotonin is one of the four ‘happiness drugs’ produced naturally by the body. Low levels of serotonin in the body lead to mood swings, depression, insomnia, and other mental ailments, that Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S can effectively treat.

Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S’s dosage is entirely dependent upon the patient’s stage and type of illness and how well they respond to Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S and therefore, each patient has a different dose customized to fit their needs best by a doctor. It is normal to have your dose altered periodically,(especially at the beginning of treatment) by a doctor to best fit the patient’s requirements. Elderly patients may ingest Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S but ideally a lower dosage, as Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S may worsen age-related dementia. How To Use Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S?

Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S is advised to be taken with a meal (it can be a light meal) orally (by mouth) with plenty of water to help aid the passage of the tablet. Tablet is not to be crushed or chewed but instead swallowed whole.

Dosage

Adult Dosage 

1-2 tablets a day can be prescribed to patients depending upon their illness being treated.

Child Dosage 

Patients under the age of 13 years are not prescribed Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S. The dosage of patients aged 13 years and above is altered for everyone depending upon the patient’s illness, suicidal thoughts (if any), weight, and age.

Elderly Dosage

Patients aged 65 years and above are prescribed a low dosage of Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S and only, when necessary, as it may worsen age-related dementia.

Pregnancy Use and Lactation

Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S is prescribed to a pregnant only when necessary. If prescribed during the third trimester, Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S may lead to withdrawal symptoms, breathing difficulties, feeding difficulties, irritability, tremors, or limp and stiff muscles in the infant. For breastfeeding women,Lanzapin 10mg Capsule ‘S is not prescribed.

  • Fatigue- Patients experiencing this adverse effect, are advised to take deep breaths, intake tea or coffee, get a good night’s rest, and not overburden themselves for a few days.
  • Feeling drowsy -If the medication makes you feel drowsy or sleepy, stop what you’re doing and sit or lie down until you feel better, and do not rise too fast or immediately from a sitting or lying down position to a standing posture. Do not drive or use tools or machinery in case of any of these effects.
  • Headaches- In which case make sure you rest and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid the use of alcohol. Take a prescribed painkiller. Consult your doctor if the headaches last longer than a week or are severe.
