Description
About
{{Product}} contains Vitamin D3 as an active constituent that is used to treat medical conditions like osteoporosis, chronic kidney disease, and hypoparathyroidism. Vitamin D3 is needed in the right amounts in the body to balance the phosphorus and calcium needs which in turn regulates metabolic functions such as bone metabolism and transcription regulation.
Vitamin D is naturally produced through diet as it is present in eggs, cheese, and fish, and through photochemical conversion of 7-dehydrocholesterol to Vitamin D3 in the skin. Inadequate exposure to sunlight, insufficient dietary intake, genetic defects with vitamin D receptors, and severe kidney or liver disease are the factors that cause the deficiency of Vitamin D resulting in osteomalacia, rickets, inadequate bone mineralization, increased secretion of parathyroid hormone, and low calcium levels in the blood.
Indications
{{Product}} is indicated for the management of:
-
Deficiency of Vitamin D resulting from intestinal malabsorption or chronic liver disease.
-
Hypocalcemia resulting from hypothyroidism in patients with osteodystrophy (abnormal changes in the growth and bone formation).
-
Refractory rickets (lack of response to vitamin D)
-
Hypoparathyroidism (low production of parathyroid hormone)
-
Familial Hypophosphatemia (inherited disorders with impaired phosphate conservation through kidneys and altered vitamin D metabolism)
-
Supplementation to maintain sufficient Vitamin D levels in the body such as in osteoporosis and chronic kidney disease.
How Does Admore 400 IU Drop 10 ml Work
{{Product}} contains the active agent cholecalciferol, a vitamin D analog. The principal function of Vitamin D is to maintain serum levels of calcium and phosphorus by increasing the mineral absorption efficacy of the small intestine.
There is a conversion of Vitamin D3 to its active form in the liver, which is further hydroxylated to its active metabolite in the kidney. The final metabolite then binds to the endogenous Vitamin D receptors resulting in regulatory roles such as maintenance of calcium levels, parathyroid hormone regulation, regulation of renal calcium absorption, enhanced bone to plasma calcium and phosphorus mobilization, and enhanced intestinal calcium & phosphorus absorption.
How To Use Admore 400 IU Drop 10 ml
Take Admore 400 IU Drop 10 ml orally (by mouth), with or without meals. It is taken preferably after meals. Take it at bedtime if you are taking other medications.
