Prostate enlargement, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is a common condition in aging men. It occurs when the prostate gland, which is located below the bladder and surrounds the urethra, grows in size and puts pressure on the urethra, causing difficulty with urination. Some common symptoms of prostate enlargement include frequent urination, a weak or slow urine stream, difficulty starting urination, dribbling at the end of urination, and the need to urinate at night.
