Inderal 10mg Tablet 25 ‘S is chemically composed of Propranolol, a beta-adrenergic blocker that works non-selectively on different beta receptors (B1 and B2 majorly). Migraine 

Starting Dose: 80 mg to be taken orally, usually in  three divided doses per day, 6 to 8 hourlies

Dose adjustment: Increase in increments of 20 to 40 mg after proper screening every 3 to 4 weeks

Maximum safe dose: 160 to 240 mg per day divided at 6 to 8 hourly intervals  

Long-acting formulations: 80 mg to be taken daily once

Maintenance dose: 160 to 240 mg per day 

Angina 

80 to 320 mg  to be taken orally, usually in two to three divided doses per day, 6 to 12  hourlies

Pheochromocytoma

This is usually given in combination with alpha-blockers, 

30 to 60 mg to be taken orally, in divided doses 

Essential Tremors

40 mg  to be taken orally, usually twice per day, at 12  hourly intervals

Maintenance dose: 120 to 320 mg per day in divided doses at 8 to 12 hourly intervals

Supraventricular Arrhythmia

10 to 30 mg to be taken orally, in divided doses every 6 to 8 hours every day

Child dosage

Inderal 10mg Tablet 25 ‘S is not prescribed to children under 12  years old. Total body weight and age must be kept in mind:

0.5 to 1 mg/kg/day to be taken orally, in divided doses at 6 to 8 hours interval

Dose adjustment: May be done every 3 to 7 days

Maximum safe dose:  16 mg/kg/day per day or 60 mg/day 

Elderly Dose
