Acetamol 100ml Injection 1 ‘S’s dosage is entirely dependent on the individual’s weight, age, and fever, or pain symptoms. {product}} is an injectable solution that is given Intravenously by a healthcare provider in a hospital or an IV line can be set up at home by a visiting health professional/nurse. In adults, via intravenous route, repeat a single dose of 1000 mg (1g) every 6 hours. The minimum interval should be 4 hours. When necessary it may be taken up to a maximum of 4 doses (4000 mg) in 24 hours. For infusion purposes Acetamol 100ml Injection 1 ‘S can be diluted with some compatible IV solutions such as sodium chloride, ringers lactate, ratio and mixing must be accurate.

Adult Dosage

Acetamol 100ml Injection 1 ‘S can be given via intravenous infusion according to the patient’s body weight and requirement. The maximum safe dose must not exceed 4 grams per day in healthy adults with adequate renal and liver function. 

  • Patients weighing 50 kgs or more can be given 1g per 100 ml via slow infusion over a period of 15-20 minutes, 6 hourly
  • Patients weighing 30-50 kg can be given 15mg/kg per 75 ml over a period of 15-20 minutes, 6 hourly 

Maximum safe dose: 4 g (4000 mg) per day

Pediatric Dosage

For patients aged 12 and below, the syrup form of Acetamol 100ml Injection 1 ‘S is commonly prescribed. However, the IV route can also be availed when indicated. 

  • Child weighing 10-30 kg can be given 15mg/kg per 75 ml, 6 hourly
  • Child weighing more than 10 kg: 10 mg/kg (1 ml/kg), 6 hourly
  • Child weighing less than 10 kgs: 7.5 mg/kg per 7.5 ml, 6 hourly

Elderly Dosage 

Patients aged 65 years and older mostly start off at a lower dosage due to reduced kidney and liver function. In case of liver and kidney impairment, dose adjustment is required.
