Onset 8mg Tablet 10 ‘S is designed to stop or lessen nausea and vomiting that patient’s might experience postoperatively,during chemotherapy or during radiation therapy.It may also be prescribed to pregnant women in their first trimester under the care and supervision of a physician.Onset 8mg Tablet 10 ‘S is available in two different formats,a tablet form to be ingested orally and in a liquid form that comes packaged in a transparent glass vial and it is injected in the patient either intramuscularly (into a patient’s muscles) or intravenously (into a patient’s veins).

Onset 8mg Tablet 10 ‘S is advised to be ingested an hour or 2 hours before undergoing treatment.Minimum of 30 minutes before undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy.The tablet format is to be ingested with plenty of water to help ease the tablet’s passage through the throat.In its injection format,the healthcare worker will disinfect the area before inserting a needle into the veins or the muscles.After administering the drug,the needle is carefully taken out and disposed off.The doctor may slightly press the infection site and then place a bandaid on top.

Adult Dosage

Patients are started with a tablet a day.Which may be altered to 2 or 3 tablets a day depending on the patient’s needs and any side effects felt by the patient.In its injection format,the physician decides the dosage but most commonly,an ampule per day is administered.

Child Dosage 

Dosage for patients aged 18 years and younger is dependent upon the severity of nausea and vomiting experienced by the patient,the patient’s weight and any side effects felt by the patient.

Elderly Dosage 

A lower dosage of Onset 8mg Tablet 10 ‘S is commonly prescribed to patients aged 65 years and above due to reduced lower liver and kidney function.
