Ferti-M 150IU Injection 1 vial
Description
About
Reproductivity is a coordinated ability of the human body because of a balance between hormones released naturally and certain other factors. Hormones that are key to fertility include HCG and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), serving an important function in conception and maintenance of pregnancy. For conditions due to a lack of these hormones resulting in fertility problems, they can be given as an exogenous source. Ferti-M 150IU Injection 1 vial is a potent hormone-based drug that belongs to a class of medicines called Menotropins used to treat various conditions causing fertility problems in both men and women or to aid the conception process such as in IVF procedures.
Ferti-M 150IU Injection 1 vial is chemically composed of Human Menopausal Gonadotropin (HMG) which offers dual action on both FSH receptors as well as LH receptors. By its action, Ferti-M 150IU Injection 1 vial helps the growth and maturation of follicles in female ovaries, crucial to fertility. Moreover, it plays a key role in the formation of steroidal hormones like estrogen and testosterone. Overall Ferti-M 150IU Injection 1 vial enhances the fertility of women struggling to conceive and in males improving sperm count and motility among other benefits. It is commonly followed by HCG therapy to stimulate the release of mature eggs for fertilization. The frequency of intake and duration depends on the condition under treatment.
Ferti-M 150IU Injection 1 vial is available in the form of a dry powder and a liquid in a separate glass container to be combined in an appropriate ratio to form an injectable solution. An injection is to be given directly into the muscles or underneath the skin as advised by the doctor. Dosage of Ferti-M 150IU Injection 1 vial depends on the nature of the condition, the patient’s response to the medicine, age, and comorbidities. It can be safely administered to adult men and women but is not suggested for use in children. Where these hormones support pregnancy and increase the chance of conception, Ferti-M 150IU Injection 1 vial should not be taken once pregnancy starts, due to the lack of relevant data on pregnant humans. Animal studies reveal birth defects with its use. And use by lactating women without a doctor’s consult is not suggested. Common side effects of this medication are pain at the site of injection, headache, dizziness, mood changes, fatigue, abdominal pain, and others.

How to use Ferti-M 150IU Injection 1 vial
It is given as a subcutaneous injection or mostly injected into the muscles by a healthcare professional, in dosage as prescribed by your doctor. Dosage is completely dependent on age, weight, the severity of the condition, and the patient’s response to the medicine. Your doctor may vary your dosage accordingly. A new, sterile syringe must always be used and properly discarded following universal protocol for sharps disposal. Always start by cleaning your hands and the area to be injected. Carefully first check the glass vials to rule out any particulate matter in the solution.
When Ferti-M 150IU Injection 1 vial is to be self-administered, the “at-home” SC/intramuscular injection technique can be taught to patients and healthcare providers. These hormonal shots can be given on the side of the arm, or mostly upper buttocks just below the hip bone (IM), subcutaneous injections can be given on the lower tummy below the navel or front thigh. Make sure you understand the right technique or get a healthcare provider to understand if you are unable to do it on your own.
It comes packed in two separate glass containers, one with dry powder and one containing the solution. A new sterile syringe is used to withdraw the solution from the liquid vial and carefully transferred to a vial containing powder to form an injectable solution. Read the label carefully to know the exact ratio before reassembling the contents into a solution form. It is advised not to shake the vials since it creates air bubbles in the liquid. After withdrawing the solution for injection gently tap the syringe and discard the first few drops to eliminate air bubbles. Moreover, do not use the same site for injections, the next dose must be administered at least 1 inch away from the previous site.
