Description

About

The process of human development and childbirth is a uniquely navigated stepwise process stretching over 9 months, starting with conception. As the time for delivery draws near a lot of physical and physiological changes come into play to help deliver the baby out of the mother’s womb. One of the most important changes is called “Cervical ripening” specifically referring to opening (widening) of the cervix to give a passage to the baby. This happens at the very end of pregnancy when the baby is ready to be born. If widening of the cervix is delayed or does not occur at the due time it can be induced with help of a variety of artificial methods.  Preglan-E2 3mg Tablet 1 ‘S is a potent drug that belongs to a class of medicines called Prostaglandin E2. Preglan-E2 3mg Tablet 1 ‘S can be used to promote the cervical opening, alternatively, this can also be utilized for removing fetal remnants after abortion or death of a fetus, from the uterus.

Preglan-E2 3mg Tablet 1 ‘S is chemically composed of Dinoprostone, whose exact mechanism of action is not known, however, it is thought to directly exert muscular contractions within the uterus housing the fetus/ unborn baby. Several functions attributed to Prostaglandin E2 include calcium ion transport and cAMP in uterine smooth muscles, bringing about the breakdown of collagen by collagenase secretion and leading to events that eventually help widen the cervix for natural birth. Preglan-E2 3mg Tablet 1 ‘S is a prescription exclusive medicine and must not be used otherwise.  Certain prerequisites must be checked first by a midwife or your obstetrician to ensure the validation of using Preglan-E2 3mg Tablet 1 ‘S.

Preglan-E2 3mg Tablet 1 ‘S is available in the form of tablets to be placed high up in the vagina by a healthcare professional or a midwife. In general, not more than 2 tablets in 24 hours are used, given 6 hours apart to stimulate labor. The patient is asked to lie down for 2 hours minimum. If contractions do not occur, alternative methods may be used for the said purpose. Preglan-E2 3mg Tablet 1 ‘S is only given after full-term or when the time of labor is near for encouraging natural birth. In the meanwhile, condition of the mother and unborn baby, are monitored carefully for the first 30 minutes at least and periodically afterward. Once contractions begin as evident by some sign, call your medical attendant immediately who will help you remove the tablet. Some of the common side effects include nausea, vomiting, chills, back pain, vaginal pain, etc.
