CHILD DOSAGE: Starting dose may be 10mg/kg while 7.5MG/kg may be administered as a maintenance dose, once every 12 hours.

How To Use Amikin 250mg/2ml Injection 1 ‘S

Amikin 250mg/2ml Injection 1 ‘S is injected into the patient’s muscles (intramuscular pathway) most commonly or into the patient’s vein (intravenously) by a trained healthcare professional. The area where the needle is to pierce the skin is first disinfected with an alcohol swab or any other disinfectant that the hospital has. Then the needle was uncapped, and the solution was injected into the body. The solution is injected slowly. The area of the skin where the needle enters may slightly bruise or remain sore for 24 hours. After the injection, the needle prick is pressed down (by hand) for 20 seconds to ensure there is no bleeding and then a band-aid is placed on top. It is advised to not mix Amikin 250mg/2ml Injection 1 ‘S with other medicines. The patient is advised to take each dose simultaneously each day, keeping a 6- or 8-12-hour gap between each dose.
