Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm effectively combines a corticosteroid (betamethasone) and an antibiotic (neomycin) to eliminate bacterial infections and inflammation on the skin.Corticosteroids work by inhibiting the production of proteins that lead to inflammation by interacting with the human DNA sequence and preventing the transcription of proteins needed in an inflammatory process.Where as,antibiotic works by reducing the proliferation of bacteria and eliminating it from the body.
A thin layer of Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm is to be applied on the skin with clean hands 1-2 times per day or as advised by the physician.Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm is to be used under the care and supervision of a doctor and for a specified period of time only.Application/usage of Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm is not be stopped abruptly as that may lead to a recurrence of the ailment,therefore,Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm is gradually tapered off.Patients are advised to not stop using the Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm once they see or feel an improvement in their symptoms,which is likely to occur 2-3 weeks after starting treatment with Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm.
Mild side effects such as a stinging or burning sensation may be felt at the time of application for a few days.Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm is not considered safe to be prescribed to children under two years of age,nor to pregnant and breastfeeding women.Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm should not be prescribed to patients with known sensitivity to Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm or corticosteroids or to patients ingesting neuromuscular blockers or aminoglycoside antibiotics.

How To Use Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm

Adult Dosage
A thin film of Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm is to be applied once or twice a day,as instructed by a physician.
Child Dosage
Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm is not deemed safe enough to be prescribed to patients aged 2 years and younger.For patients aged 24 months and above,Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm is considered safe and prescribed when necessary and under the care and supervision of a doctor.Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm is not recommended to be used for more than 7 days.
Elderly Dosage
For eldery patients the dosage of the drug may be lower than normal due to decreased kidney function,Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm may not be effectively removed from the body and so,in such cases the doctor may prescribe an altered dose of the Betaderm N Ointment 15 gm.
Pregnancy Use And Lactation
