Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that belongs to the third group of fluoroquinolones. Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. This medication is used to treat bacterial eye infections which are a common cause of conjunctivitis. Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S is available on a doctor’s prescription. Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S contains Moxifloxacin as an active ingredient. It kills bacteria by preventing them from producing the substances they require to multiply and repair themselves. Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S is a bactericidal antibiotic whose mechanism of action involves binding to an enzyme called DNA gyrase, which facilitates the untwisting required to replicate one DNA double helix into two. 

Moxifloxacin’s bactericidal effect is due to inhibition of the enzymes topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and topoisomerase IV. DNA gyrase is a necessary enzyme for the replication, transcription, and repair of bacterial DNA. Topoisomerase IV is an enzyme that is involved in chromosomal DNA partitioning during bacterial cell division. 

How To Use Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S

Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S must be applied with clean hands, make sure the eyedropper or tube tip doesn’t touch the surface of the eye or any other surface. It is imperative that the tip of the dropper/tube and hands must be always clean before the application of Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S. Make sure to shake Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S container well before each use and to replace the cap of the Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S immediately after each use.

Only take Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more of it, take it more frequently, or take it for longer than your doctor prescribed. Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S should not be used for an extended period of time. 

Remove your contact lenses before using Inmox Eye Drops 0.5% 1 ‘S if you wear them. Contact lenses should not be worn for at least 24 hours after the last dose. 

To use the eye drops:

1. Before applying the drops, wash your hands. 
2. Take off the bottle’s cap. 
3. To make a pocket, tilt your head back and draw your lower eyelid downward. 
4. Hold the bottle near your eye, upside down. As you do this, try not to contact your eye. 
5. To discharge one drop into your eye, gently press on the bottle’s base. Use a second drop only if the first one didn’t reach your eye. 
6. Close one eye and gently press on the side of your nose where the corner of your eye meets your nose for a minute or two. This maintains the drop in your eye and prevents it from draining out. 
7. If you were directed to use the drops in both eyes, repeat the procedure in the other eye. 
8. Remove the cap and replace it. 

Dosage

Form and strength

Adult Dosage 

1 drop in the affected eye/eyes twice a day for 7 days

Child Dosage

Children above 4months of age: 1 drop in the affected eye/eyes twice a day for 7 days

Children below 4months of age: Your doctor will establish how much and how often you should use it. 

Elderly Dosage  

The elderly and individuals with a low body weight do not require any dosage adjustments.
