Capsule:

•  Ferrous fumarate 300mg and folic acid 5mg

Recommended Daily Allowance 

• Males aged >10 years: 12 mg/day Fe PO
• Females aged >10 years: 15 mg/day Fe PO

Adult dosage:

• Treatment of iron deficiency anemia: 150-200 mg Fe (elemental iron)/day PO, may administer 60-100 mg elemental iron q12hr or up to 60 mg elemental iron q6hr.
• Prophylaxis of iron deficiency anemia: 60-100 mg Fe (elemental iron)/day PO.

Child Dosage:

• Treatment of iron deficiency anemia: 3-6 mg Fe/kg/day qday or divided q8hr PO
• Prophylaxis of iron deficiency anemia: 1-2 mg Fe/kg/day qday or divided q8hr PO ≤15 mg/day 

Elderly dosage:

Lower doses of 15-50 mg elemental iron/day recommended may cause fewer GI adverse events.

Pregnancy and Lactation

If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, tell your doctor. You’ll need to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of taking iron and folic acid while pregnant. Before using this medication during pregnancy, you may need to undergo additional examinations.

Contraindications
