Xenglu 25mg Tablet 14 ‘S belongs to a class of drugs called “hypoglycemics” (anti-diabetics, sodium glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors) that are used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes
- When diet and exercise are inadequate in controlling blood sugar levels
- As monotherapy (single drug treatment) if metformin is inappropriate, and

Type 2 diabetes, also known as non insulin-dependent diabetes, is a condition resulting from a combination of insulin resistance, i.e, body cells failing to respond properly to the insulin produced, inadequate insulin secretion, and excessive production of glucagon. How to use Xenglu 25mg Tablet 14 ‘S?
Xenglu 25mg Tablet 14 ‘S can be taken with or without meals, any time of the day as long as it’s around the same time everyday.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Dosage
- It is available in tablet form and the usual dose is 1 tablet per day
- Recommended starting dose is usually 10mg/day which might be increased to 25mg/day if need be.
- The dosage may vary if you’re taking it in combination with other medicines like metformin and linagliptin

- Usually 1 tablet is taken once a day, with meals to prevent getting an upset stomach
Pregnancy use and lactation
Use of Xenglu 25mg Tablet 14 ‘S is not recommended in pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, please consult your doctor before using Xenglu 25mg Tablet 14 ‘S so that they can change your medicine. Usually it is not prescribed while breastfeeding as it could possibly affect the growth and development of the baby’s kidneys.
Contraindications
