Description

About

Evofix 100mg/5ml Suspension 30 ml belongs to a class of drugs called “Cephalosporins”, specifically used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is known to be Beta-Lactam, a broad-spectrum antibiotic i.e. it works against a wide range of disease-causing bacteria including life-threatening severe ones. Evofix 100mg/5ml Suspension 30 ml is chemically composed of Cefixime, a 3rd generation cephalosporin. It is effective against a variety of gram-negative bacteria and also some gram-positive microbes.

This antibiotic is used to treat bacterial infections such as bronchitis (infection of the airway tubes leading to the lungs), gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease), and infections of the ears, throat, tonsils, and urinary tract. It will not work for viral infections(such as common cold, or flu). Therefore, using any antibiotic when it is not required may decrease its efficacy for future infections. On the other hand, some people might be allergic to penicillin antibiotics and hence will not be able to take Evofix 100mg/5ml Suspension 30 ml.  It works by preventing bacteria from forming a protective cell layer called cell walls, thereby killing them.

Evofix 100mg/5ml Suspension 30 ml is available on prescription, as a liquid in suspension form. Dosage of Evofix 100mg/5ml Suspension 30 ml depends on age, weight, patient’s response to the medicine, and their comorbidities. Evofix 100mg/5ml Suspension 30 ml is given via mouth in dosage (usually 12-24 hourly) depending upon the severity of infection and kidney function. This can be safely prescribed to children 6 months and older. If you are pregnant or a lactating mother, consult a physician first. The drug dose regimen must be strictly followed without skipping to avoid bacterial resistance. Common side effects of this medication are nausea, diarrhea, and indigestion (stomach ache).
