Avamys 27.5mcg Spray 120 ‘S works by lowering nasal passage swelling (inflammation). Fluticasone furoate affects the action of several cell types and inflammatory mediators through an unknown mechanism.

How To Use Avamys 27.5mcg Spray 120 ‘S

Avamys 27.5mcg Spray 120 ‘S is available as a nasal spray. 

• Before using this medication, blow your nose gently. 
• Before each usage, give the container a good shake. 
• If you’re using the bottle for the first time, haven’t used it in more than 30 days, or have left the cap off for 5 days or longer, follow the instructions on how to properly prime it.
• To receive the best benefit from this drug, take it daily. Use it at the same time every day to help you remember.
• The applicator should be cleaned regularly. Keep track of how many sprays you’ve used from the canister. After you’ve used the number of sprays suggested on the manufacturer’s packet, discard the container.

Nasal Spray= 27.5mcg

Adult Dosage

Initial dose – Two spray actuation (27.5 micrograms of fluticasone furoate per spray actuation) in each nostril once daily is the suggested starting dose (total daily dose, 110 micrograms).

Maintenance dose – Once symptoms are under control, reducing the dose to one spray actuation in each nostril (total daily dose 55 micrograms) may be sufficient for maintenance.

Titration – The dose should be titrated to the lowest dose that maintains effective symptom control.

Child Dosage

6-11 years of age – 

Initial dose – One spray actuation (27.5 micrograms of fluticasone furoate per spray actuation) in each nostril once daily is the suggested starting dose (total daily dose, 55 micrograms).

Maintenance dose – If one spray actuation in each nostril once daily (total daily dose, 55 micrograms) is insufficient, two spray actuation in each nostril once daily may be used (total daily dose, 110 micrograms).

Titration – Once symptoms have been adequately controlled, the dose should be reduced to one spray actuation in each nostril once a day (total daily dose, 55 micrograms).

Children under 6 years of age:

Avamys 27.5mcg Spray 120 ‘S safety and efficacy in children under the age of six years has yet to be determined.

Elderly Dosage

Contraindications

• Back pain: Apply ice to your back every hour or as prescribed for 15 to 20 minutes. Use an ice pack or a plastic bag filled with crushed ice. For as many days as suggested, apply heat to your back for 20 to 30 minutes every 2 hours. Maintain as much activity as possible without aggravating your condition. As recommended, going to physical therapy will help you increase your mobility and strength while also reducing pain.
