Bismol 88mg/5ml Suspension 120 ml is used to treat various conditions affecting the digestive system including occasional heartburn, diarrhea, inability to digest properly, nausea, and sometimes H.Pylori infection as well. Bismol 88mg/5ml Suspension 120 ml is chemically composed of Bismuth Subsalicylate, helping to alleviate inflammation and discomfort inside the stomach. 

Bismol 88mg/5ml Suspension 120 ml is fast-acting in its function taking about 30 to 60 minutes to start working. The working mechanism is difficult to understand. It works by forming stable salt compounds in the stomach, a part of which is readily absorbed, and the remainder that is only partially absorbed helps reduce inflammation and heals and prevents bacterial growth on the stomach lining as well as decreases the acid secretion in the gut. 

Bismol 88mg/5ml Suspension 120 ml is available as an oral suspension to be taken as instructed by the doctor. Generally, it can be taken with or without food. It works by forming stable salt compounds, in the stomach, this compound undergoes a process further breaking it down into two components, a part of which (salicylate) is readily absorbed in the blood, and the remainder drug-containing Bismuth compound that is only partially absorbed helps reduce inflammation, heals and prevents bacterial growth on the stomach lining as well control acid secretion. This activity is particularly effective in patients with active stomach ulcers and diarrhea. 

How to use Bismol 88mg/5ml Suspension 120 ml

Every 5 ml of Bismol 88mg/5ml Suspension 120 ml contains 88 mg of Bismuth subsalicylate.  Bismol 88mg/5ml Suspension 120 ml is available in the form of oral suspension to be swallowed with a glass of water through the mouth with or without a meal. Before using, to mix constituents of Bismol 88mg/5ml Suspension 120 ml, shake the bottle vigorously. Take out the prescribed amount in a calibrated spoon or measuring cup (for ml dosing). In general, Bismol 88mg/5ml Suspension 120 ml can be safely taken 3 to 4 times a day in prescribed doses. 2 tbsp (30 ml) equals 1 dose, you can take 1 dose of Bismol 88mg/5ml Suspension 120 ml every 30 minutes to 1 hour until you start feeling better, make sure not to take more than suggested safe dose or as advised by your doctor.
