About

There is a natural secretion of acidic fluid by the stomach that helps us to digest food that we consume and also extract nutrients from it. The backflow of this acid or excessive secretion by the stomach can cause problems with serious consequences. Rabecid 20mg Tablet 14 ‘S belongs to a class of medicines called “Proton pump inhibitors” commonly referred to as antacids. It is prescribed to patients who regularly experience heartburn, acid reflux, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and are at a high risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, as well as other stomach and esophageal disorders such as H.Pylori infection, treated in combination with antibiotics

Rabecid 20mg Tablet 14 ‘S is chemically composed of Rabeprazole, which decreases the amount of acid secreted by the stomach.  H+/K+ ATPase is an enzyme contained in the parietal cells of the stomach, involved in the acidification of the secretions from the stomach. Rabecid 20mg Tablet 14 ‘S blocks this enzyme and consequently acid secretion. When treatment is initiated with Rabecid 20mg Tablet 14 ‘S, you will feel improvement in your condition but it may take up to 4 weeks for clinical benefits to set in completely.

Rabecid 20mg Tablet 14 ‘S is available in form of tablets and capsules to be taken orally, usually once a day 30 minutes before breakfast or the first meal of the day,  or sometimes twice daily as suggested by the doctor. While Rabecid 20mg Tablet 14 ‘S can be safely prescribed to adults, it is not prescribed to children younger than 12 years, also pregnant and lactating mothers should abstain from taking it due to the lack of availability of scientific evidence regarding its safety. The most common side effects observed with Rabecid 20mg Tablet 14 ‘S include flatulence, dizziness, abdominal pain, backache, etc.

How Does Rabecid 20mg Tablet 14 ‘S Work

Rabecid 20mg Tablet 14 ‘S is chemically composed of Rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that decreases the amount of acid secreted by the stomach.  H+/K+ ATPase is an enzyme contained in the parietal cells of the stomach, involved in the acidification of the secretions from the stomach, and activates pepsin. PPIs block this enzyme and consequently the acid secretion.
