Trusopt Eye 2% Drop 5 ml
Description
Overview
{{Product}} (Dorzolamide) is a topical medication prescribed for the treatment of glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye ailment in which increased intraocular pressure (hypertension of the eye) causes the risk of visual impairment. So, the core purpose of prescribing this medication is to decrease the pressure in the eye.
How Does Trusopt Eye 2% Drop 5 ml Work
Carbonic anhydrase exists in an isoenzyme form in RBCs and other body tissues, including the eye where it plays a role in the secretion of aqueous humor. Its inhibition reduces the secretion of aqueous humor, reducing the intraocular pressure, and thereby treating glaucoma.
{{Product}} contains Dorzolamide as an active agent which acts as an effective inhibitor of this enzyme (carbonic anhydrase). The result is, reduced intraocular pressure which if remains elevated, can be a risk factor for optic nerve damage and loss of vision. {{Product}} works by reducing the secretion of aqueous humor rather than spasm or pupillary constriction. Therefore, it has no effects on blood pressure and does not show serious side effects like night blindness.

Q. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I DON’T REMOVE CONTACT LENSES PRIOR APPLICATION OF {{PRODUCT}}?
