Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S belongs to a family of chemicals known as anticonvulsants and is prescribed for treatment of Epileptic seizures,especially seizures involving a single part of the brain known as partial onset seizures.Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S is available in tablet as well as syrup format.

Patient’s treatments usually start with a tablet a day,which is later increased to two tablets (or two tablespoons if used in syrup form) depending on the patient’s needs and how well she/he is able to cope with any side effects experienced by the patient.Each patient has a different dose customized to fit their needs best by a doctor.

Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S is safe enough to be prescribed to patients aged 4 years and above.Elderly patients may also safely ingest Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S but ideally a lower dosage,as due to decreased kidney functions in old age the elimination process of Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S might be slower.Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S is not recommended to pregnant and/or breastfeeding mothers.

Dizziness,headache and stomach problems (such as nausea and vomiting) are just a few of the common side effects felt by patients while ingesting Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S,these effects tend to resolve on their own in a few days’ time.Alcohol consumption is not advised while ingesting Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S as that would result in extreme dizziness.Unnecessary consumption of Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S is not advised.

How To Use Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S 

Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S is to be ingested orally with sufficient liquids,to ease the passage of the tablet.Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S can be ingested at any time of the day although it is preferable that it be ingested after dinner.Tablet is not to be crushed or chewed but instead swallowed whole. If Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S is ingested in liquid form,it is advised to carefully measure out the correct dose before ingestion.

Adult Dosage

Patients are started with a tablet a day.Which may be altered to 2 tablets a day depending on the patient’s needs and any side effects felt by the patient.

Child Dosage 

Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S is safe to be prescribed to patients aged 4 years and above,although the dosage is entirely dependent upon the patient’s age,weight and severity of illness.

Elderly Dosage

Patients aged 65 years and above are prescribed a lower dosage,due to decreased kidney functions in old age the elimination process of Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S might be slower

Pregnancy Use And Lactation

Lerace 250mg Tablet 5 ‘S is not considered safe to be prescribed to pregnant women and/or lactating mothers and is therefore,only prescribed when absolutely necessary.

  • Headaches- In which case make sure you rest and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid the use of alcohol. Take a prescribed painkiller. Consult your doctor if the headaches last longer than a week or are severe.
  • Skin Rash- can be eased by applying soothing and healing lotions or creams such as calamine lotion/cream.Apply a cold compress to the rash helps reduce itchiness and redness caused by rash.An antihistamine (prescribed by a doctor) is also recommended as an effective way to combat any skin rash.
