Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S is chiefly used to treat and/or prevent malarial infestation in the human body but Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S may also be used to treat symptoms like joint swelling and skin issues associated with autoimmune diseases such as lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S belongs to a group of chemicals called disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDS),these drugs work by eliminating the infected (by P.falciparum) cells and also interferes with the inflammatory reactions of the immune system to reduce swellings and fever.

Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S is preferred to be ingested with food (or a glass of milk) so as to prevent stomach problems that may occur in certain cases.The dosage of Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S is dependent entirely upon the illness being treated and the age as well as the weight of the patient.

For the prevention of malaria (for patient’s traveling to malarious countries),the patients are asked to do a 5 day long course of Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S a week or two before travel and during the stay in the forgien country.In the treatment of active malaria,patients are asked to take a tablet or two daily for a week,the dosage is meant to be spaced out through out the day with a 6 or 8 hour interval between each dose.It is recommended to not stop taking the medication without consulting a physician as that may lead to a reoccurance of malaria.

If Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S is being used to treat lupus and rheumatoid arthritis,a tablet or two once or twice daily;the physicain may alter the dosage depending upon the increase or decrease of symptoms felt by the patient.Once again,it is advised to not stop taking Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S without the consent of a doctor.

For patients ingesting anacids while unergoing treatement with Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S,it is recommeded to have antacids a minimum of 4 hours either beofre ro after ingestion of Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S as antacids are said to decrease absorption of Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S.Headaches,dizziness and stomach problems are common adverse effects that may be felt by patients undergoing treatment with Oxyclor 200mg Tablet 10 ‘S.

Dosage

Adult Dosage 

A tablet or two either once or twice a day is the recommended dose.Dosage is dependent upon the illness being treated.The strenght of dose may be altered during the course of the treatment.

Child Dosage
