Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm belongs to a class of drugs called topical retinoids which are chemically related to Vitamin A. Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm is used to treat pimples or acne vulgaris deep-seated in the pores and some pigmented conditions such as melasma, hyperpigmented skin, and age marks, all of which has been reported as non-prescription or self-applications. Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm can be safely prescribed to children (above 12 years of age) and adults.

Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm is chemically composed of Adapalene, a retinoid compound related to vitamin A. it helps prevent and treat acne through its anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm is applied externally on the skin only, once or twice a day on clean, dry skin. Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm works best in individuals with mild to moderate pimples. 

Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm is available in form of cream available in a tube form. Although adapalene contained in the Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm is considered to be light stable as compared to other retinoids such as tretinoin, it is best to apply it at night. Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm works by acting on the skin via two basic mechanisms. Firstly, it works deep in the pores and prevents the formation of very minute primary acne spots (Microcomedones). Secondly, it helps reduce inflammation of the skin and controls redness. 

How to use Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm? 

Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm is available in form of cream meant for external use only to be applied topically with clean hands after washing the face properly and gently drying afterward. Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm is safe for use in adults and children above 12 years of age.

Usage

  • Wash and gently pat dry your skin before applying the Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm.

  • Skin Rash- Can be eased by applying soothing and healing lotions or creams such as calamine lotion/cream. Apply a cold compress to the rash to help reduce itchiness and redness caused by the rash. An antihistamine (prescribed by a doctor) is also recommended as an effective way to combat any skin rash.
  • Dryness- apply a moisturizer to the skin and wait for 10-15 minutes after which apply Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm onto the skin. This will prevent skin from getting dry and flaky.
  • Photosensitivity – Patients are asked to wear sun-protective clothing when going outside including gloves and hats, to apply generous amounts of broad-spectrum sunblock along with wearing sunglasses. Patients are advised to do all necessary work after sunset so as to reduce or eliminate sun exposure while undergoing treatment with Pimpal 0.10% Gel 15 gm.
  • Headaches- In which case make sure you rest and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid the use of alcohol. Take a prescribed painkiller. Consult your doctor if the headaches last longer than a week or are severe
  • Feeling or being sick (nausea or vomiting) or diarrhea – Avoid eating rich or spicy food. It might help to take medication after food. If you’re sick, try drinking small, frequent sips of water. 
  • Feeling dizzy (lightheaded) or weak –If the medication makes you feel dizzy or weak, stop what you’re doing and sit or lie down until you feel better and do not rise too fast or immediately from sitting or lying down position to a standing posture. Do not drive or use tools or machinery in case of any of these effects.
