About

Am-Descol 5mg+10mg Tablet 7 ‘S has two main chemical groups that work harmoniously together to bring about low levels of blood pressure and cholesterol in patients who suffer from high blood pressure regularly. Am-Descol 5mg+10mg Tablet 7 ‘S combines two separate drug groups in one very efficient tablet. One of the chemical groups is known as Calcium channel blockers (Amlodipine); this chemical group prevents the narrowing of blood vessels, therefore, easing the flow of blood to the various body organs and easing the flow of blood in the blood vessels themselves. This action coupled with the magic of a statin (Atorvastatin) that prevents excess cholesterol from narrowing/blocking blood vessels by accumulating at the walls of these vessels; efficiently lowers raised levels of blood pressure (hypertension) and raised cholesterol levels in the bloodstream.

Hypertension left untreated can cause severe damage to the brain, heart, kidney, blood vessels, and other body organs. Am-Descol 5mg+10mg Tablet 7 ‘S is prescribed when a single chemical group alone is not able to efficiently treat high blood pressure thus this drug is known as asthma the second line of treatment for hypertension n, therefore, Am-Descol 5mg+10mg Tablet 7 ‘S dosage is determined by the patient’s stage of illness and their response to treatment with this drug.

A tablet per day is prescribed to the patient, the dosage may be altered later on in the treatment depending upon the patient’s response to the drug and any adverse effects experienced by the patient. Am-Descol 5mg+10mg Tablet 7 ‘S is not safe to be given to children under the age of 10 nor pregnant and lactating mothers. If the patient conceives while undergoing treatment with Am-Descol 5mg+10mg Tablet 7 ‘S, it is advised that she immediately consults a doctor.

It may take up to 2-3 weeks to reap the entire benefits of the drug therefore, It is advised to not stop treatment abruptly once the patient feels better (usually after a few days) without consulting a doctor as the risk of heart failure and stroke is significantly increased without the drug. If you miss a dose of the medication, make sure you take it as soon as possible on that same day. If you don’t remember you missed the dose until the next day, do not double the dose and take your medication as per schedule as that may lead to serious adverse effects. If this happens very often, try setting an alarm as a reminder.

While undergoing treatment with Am-Descol 5mg+10mg Tablet 7 ‘S the doctor will periodically prescribe lab tests to monitor the patient’s liver and kidney functions. Common side effects such as headaches, fatigue, and stomach problems tend to resolve on their own in a few days. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice increase the amount of Am-Descol 5mg+10mg Tablet 7 ‘S in the body and is therefore eliminated from the diet of patients undergoing treatment with Am-Descol 5mg+10mg Tablet 7 ‘S.

How Does Am-Descol 5mg+10mg Tablet 7 ‘S Work

Am-Descol 5mg+10mg Tablet 7 ‘S also contains a statin (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors). This family of chemicals works by reducing the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver thereby, preventing excess cholesterol to narrow/block blood vessels by accumulating at the walls of these vessels.
