Hy-Cortisone 100mg Injection 1 vial is given by injection into the muscle (intramuscular, IM) or into the vein (intravenously, IV), by a healthcare provider.

How To Use {{Product}}

Hy-Cortisone 100mg Injection 1 vial is to be injected into the veins or muscles of the patient commonly by a doctor/nurse or by another person who’s guided and instructed. 

How Does {{Product}} Work

{{Product}} performs the function of weakening the immune system’s response to diseases which results in the reduction of the effects and symptoms such as swelling or allergic-type reactions.

Dosage 

Adults Dosage

Adrenal insufficiency (acute): 100mg IV bolus, then 100mg thrice a day in divided doses. After every 8 hours continuous infusion for 48hours. 

Can be shifted to 50mg every 8 hours for 6 doses. 

Adrenal Insufficiency (chronic): 100mg given in divided doses 

Anti-inflammatory or immunosuppressive: 15-240mg every 12 hours. 

Stress doing (surgery)in patients to be adrenally suppressed or on chronic systemic steroids: for major stress can be taken 100-150mg in 2-3 divided doses for 2-3 days. 

Children Dosage

Addisonian crisis:12-18yearold:  initially 10mg but then 100mg/square meter daily in divided doses.

Inflammatory bowel disease, induction of remission: IV 2-18 years old: 2.5/kg(100mg) max 

Acute hypersensitivity reactions, angioedema: under 6 months: 100mg in 3 divided doses. 6-12years: 100mg 3 times a day. 

Severe acute asthma: 4 mg/kg (max 100mg) every 6 hour.  

Pregnancy Use and Lactation 

Medicine has shown potential risks and can be harmful to the fetus hence should be avoided during pregnancy. If a patient gets pregnant during the administration, then he should consult his doctor.

Acne – Patients can use azelaic acid as it helps in clearing up acne and cutting down on oily foods while staying hydrated. 

Insomnia- Patients can try putting on calm music before sleep and sleep with a comfortable blanket and pillow. Avoiding looking at screens for a long time may also help. 

Sweating– Patients are required to stay in a chilly area and wear comfortable and loose clothing which helps them stay at ease. They should keep a fan on and stay hydrated. 

Weight Gain- patients are required to maintain a healthy and balanced diet and not cut down on their daily food intake. Patients can go on regular walks or do exercise. 

Hypertension – patients are supposed to stay hydrated and avoid caffeine and alcohol. They should stay hydrated and avoid driving or lifting heavy machinery.
