- Skin infection
Mild-moderate: 200 mg/100 ml (IV), twice daily for 1-2 weeks.
Severe: 400 mg /40 ml (IV) twice daily for 1-2 weeks.
- UTI
Mild/moderate (uncomplicated): 200 mg/100 ml IV twice daily at 8-12 hours, 1-2 weeks
Severe/complicated: 400 mg/40 ml, IV twice daily for 1-2 weeks
- Acute uncomplicated cystitis: 200 mg IV, twice daily for 3 days.
- Inhalation anthrax: 400 mg twice daily, IV every 12 hours for 60 days after confirmed or suspected exposure.
- Bone infection: 400 mg (IV) twice daily for 4-8 weeks
Children:
Indicated for the following when no other safe alternative is available:
- Complicated UTI/Pyelonephritis: 1-17 years, 6 -10 mg/kg twice daily for 10-21 days. Max safe dose: 400 mg/dose
- Inhalation anthrax: 10mg/kg twice daily, every 12 hours for 60 days after confirmed or suspected exposure. Max safe dose: 400 mg/dose.
